What is one book, blog, or podcast you recommend widely?

I really enjoy Seth Godin’s blog. It’s hard to choose just one book, but I think I’d recommend Conscious Business by Fred Kofman.

What is something that's not on your LinkedIn profile that you wish was?

My passion for leadership development and people isn’t communicated as effectively as I’d like.

The first Junto class that we hosted at Nick’s Pizza & Pub had such a great impact on not only everyone that was there, but also on myself. It helped me understand myself and my company so much better as a result.

How would you describe your areas of expertise based on industry, market, and/or function?

I have two businesses now, but I started in the restaurant business. Where I create value and where my expertise lies is in creating high performing cultures and working with people.

What is your strength when it comes to emotional intelligence?

My ability to navigate drama.

What are 1-2 leadership virtues you've observed or learned in your career?

Humility and inspiration. Humble leaders are more important than I realized.

Gratitude for human beings.

A new vision for Nick’s Pizza & Pub and the Trust & Track Institute.

What have you learned about yourself mentoring with Junto?

I’ve learned that each of us has a lot of alignment around creating and leading our companies through values, and that finance is just as important as the softer skills.
