"Junto teaches you that you are a team and a tribe, and that it may take longer to get there, but you’ll get there healthy and happy and sustainably, and that happens through true connectedness and trust."

What is your superpower?

I can see people’s strengths and pull them out of them and guide or coach them to higher levels. I can also go into any department or area, break it down, and then build it back up.

What is your most memorable Junto moment?

When we went to Nick’s Pizza, and it occurred to me how much we can streamline our operations through the aspect of art versus science, allowing people to be creative within our processes.

What is your strength when it comes to emotional intelligence?

I don’t necessarily feel what someone else feels, but I can see where they’re at and see from their perspective, so I would say cognitive empathy.

What are 1-2 leadership virtues you've observed or learned in your career?

First, humility - learn from everybody around you, whether they’re younger or older. Second, patience - people can evolve but it takes time. Invest your time and energy into others, and it pays off.

How would you describe your areas of expertise based on industry, market, and/or function?

I’m classically trained as an attorney, in commercial litigation and business law. In my current life, I am in senior living and technology.

What is one book, blog, or podcast you recommend widely?

The One Thing, it focuses on how to prioritize your life.

What have you learned about yourself through participating in Junto?

It’s not efficient to go at it alone. Sometimes smart and strong people think that they should do everything on their own, or that they’re the only ones who know how. Junto teaches you that you are a team and a tribe, and that it may take longer to get there, but you’ll get there healthy and happy and sustainably, and that happens through true connectedness and trust.

Finish the following sentence, "In my experience, ______________."

The most important thing is to be kind to people.

What's something that's not on your LinkedIn profile that you wish was?

The expertise in senior and assisted living that I’ve gained in the last few years. I wouldn’t call myself an expert in the technology, but the clinical side of the senior living industry has become a wheelhouse for me.
