Does this description come to mind when you hear about “office politics”, or when someone at work is regarded as politically savvy? These terms often bring to mind things like cutthroat ambition, backstabbing, and manipulation…but it doesn’t have to be that way.
Being politically savvy has nothing to do with the dark art of office politics: with a foundation of emotional intelligence, political savvy is crucial for great leadership.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
In this talk, you’ll learn why politics in your organization is not only unavoidable, but a crucial part of career and leadership development. Drawing on her experience as a senior leader, and blending personal stories with research, Olga will:
- debunk the myth that developing your organizational political skills requires elaborate plotting and a heart of stone
- demonstrate how you can become politically savvy by using emotional intelligence, empathy, sincerity, integrity, and humor
THIS MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF YOU ARE
- a leader or emerging leader who wants to become more socially intelligent and better at influencing others
- finding your progress up the career ladder is slowing and not keeping pace with colleagues
- trying to expand and improve your internal networking skills
