WHY THIS TOPIC:

“It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters. When something happens, the only thing in your power is your attitude towards it; you can either accept it or resent it.” Epictetus (Greek philosopher)

The pandemic has put unprecedented pressure on many of us. As leaders, how do we acknowledge and express our feelings responsibly? As individuals, do we feel in control of our lives? Do we have choice?

Sometimes, how we choose to react is all that we have control over. Are we choosing our reactions and managing them, or are we unconsciously reacting the same way, over and over again, and feeling victimized by life?

Self-awareness and self-management can give us choice and control.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
  • two key pillars of Social & Emotional Intelligence – Self-Awareness and Self-Management
  • to create choice in your life through self-awareness and self-management
  • a model that will help you to map your internal states and emotions, and make your choices more evident
  • that you are always having feelings – it is your choice to be aware, and to express and manage them
  • to consciously choose your reactions to events and life, and feel more in control
THIS MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF YOU ARE
  • a founder or executive leader looking to proactively and consciously set and exemplify values and principles
  • a leader or manager looking to consciously lead by example
  • an employee wanting to be more in charge or his/her reactions and choices
  • a human being looking to author his/her life, responsibly
