"How Junto structures the mentoring process has carried over to other mentoring I do."

Finish the following sentence: "In my experience, ______________."

People take things too seriously.

What is your superpower?

I can draw connections between things that are seemingly unrelated.

What is your strength when it comes to emotional intelligence?

Listening. I sail beneath the radar but know what’s going on around me. I’m also good at listening to a group and come up with solutions so that everyone wins, based on everyone’s personal interests.

What are you working on right now?

Two clients. One is a company that does frozen pasta, family-owned, and has a huge account concentration. We’re helping with how to grow their business through diversification, innovate new products and retool their organization. The other one is a specialty pizza and crust manufacturer...vegetable infused, organic crusts, etc. We’re helping them try to figure out how to stay ahead of the wave with rapid growth.

How would you describe your areas of expertise based on industry, market, and/or function?

Most of my experience has been running a co-packing company, which includes the whole of commercialization - innovation, prototypes, supply chain, production capacity, and running a growing company. My focus specifically is on organization and supply chain manufacturing.

What are 1-2 leadership virtues you've observed or learned in your career?

The first would be transparency. Ultimately, everything becomes public anyway, so get it out as quickly and accurately as possible. Second, humility, or intellectual humility. Nobody really knows enough about anything, so we’re better off collaborating.

What is one book, blog, or podcast you recommend widely?

When I deal with early stage or smaller companies, I recommend Traction. It’s a five step strategic plan for high growth startups, and it’s great for new companies wanting to organize the business.

What is something that's not on your LinkedIn profile that you wish was?

More of my personality.

What have you learned about yourself mentoring with Junto?

How Junto structures the mentoring process [shared experiences vs. advice] has carried over to other mentoring I do.
