What are 1-2 leadership virtues you've observed or learned in your career?

Be yourself - be authentic, honest, and direct - and lead by example.

What have you learned about yourself mentoring with Junto?

That it’s okay to be vulnerable...that everybody is, they just don’t always show it.

What is one book, blog, or podcast you recommend widely?

Execution by Larry Bossidy and Ram Sharan. It simply states the three most important elements of getting things done - people, process, and follow through. 

What is your most memorable Junto moment?

Watching one of the companies I worked with realize that it’s okay to be what they really want to be, and not be what others think they should be.

What are you working on right now?

I’m at a startup launching a high-end industrial 3D printer. I’m working on every aspect of that, from developing a new technology to educating the market about it.

What is your strength when it comes to emotional intelligence?

I’m not afraid to be wrong and to acknowledge it. I’m also sensitive to the feelings and perspectives of others, especially when working in a collaborative fashion.

How would you describe your areas of expertise based on industry, market, and/or function?

I have experience across several industries - 3D printing, digital maps and navigation, and pharmacy benefits management. My own function has been as a CEO for 9 years, prior to that I was legal counsel and a patent lawyer.

What is your superpower?

I’m really logical and fair, but also have a sense of humor.

What is something that's not on your LinkedIn profile that you wish was?

I love to fish!
