The Junto Institute was founded in 2012 by Raman Chadha, who merged a long career in startups and higher education, a deep understanding of psychology and neuroscience, and a passion for leadership and emotional intelligence. Later that year, Catherine Jelinek joined as co-founder and, together, they launched Junto’s first leadership development program in Chicago in 2013.
After two years, Junto graduates began demonstrating the power of learning emotionally intelligent leadership, validating that program which continued until 2019. During those years, Junto expanded through a Master Class in Emotional Intelligence, corporate training, annual retreats, and taking its flagship program to Los Angeles.
In 2020, the company went remote and two years later, decided to focus entirely on emotional intelligence coaching and training for leaders and managers in growing organizations. Today, Junto is based in Boulder, Colorado and delivers its services both in-person and remotely.
