Imagine having a group of six seasoned executives who have walked in your shoes and can share experiences with virtually every challenge you face. Imagine having a group of mentors who have already been vetted for you, make introductions to people in their network, and have the best interests of your company in mind.
Our Mentor Teams have historically been one of the most transformative parts of Junto. Every month, you meet with your Mentor Team on a set agenda, in a meeting facilitated by one of our partners. They ask you hard questions, shine bright lights in your team’s blind spots, and help you make hard decisions. The outcome is that your leadership team becomes better and smarter.
Because you want people on your team who have already “been there, done that” so you can make better decisions faster. Just when you thought you had things figured out, this new stage of growth brings a whole new set of challenges, and you know that “what got you here won’t get you there.”
Your Mentor Team asks you hard questions to improve your team’s critical thinking skills. They share personal experiences to give you fresh ways of approaching challenges. And they provide accountability to ensure you’re doing what’s in the best interests of the business while providing moral support to help you feel that you’re not alone.
Your Mentor Team is similar to an advisory board: it’s a group of highly experienced professionals who meet together to provide you with direction, support, and accountability as you navigate each stage of your company’s growth. While not required, many of them also make themselves available for 1:1 conversations outside the group meetings.
For two hours every month for a year, your leadership team will meet with your Mentor Team. Meetings consist of brief Q&A on the company’s results since the last meeting, two prepared agenda items that are forward-looking challenges, and identification of action items for your executive team.
Your Mentor Team consists of six deeply experienced executives and entrepreneurs who have collectively walked in your shoes. They are curated based on your company’s industry, market, and functional needs. Each one is either an experienced Mentor with The Junto Institute or vetted by our team to ensure they meet our high standards.
Every month, they meet as a group with your leadership team, facilitated by one of our partners. Therefore, there are typically 10-12 people in each meeting.
Mentor Team meetings are rooted in a discovery-based approach to stimulate your critical thinking and decision-making skills. Following our designed structure and meeting protocols, each session is focused and highly productive, and has equal participation from all Mentors.
Meetings are facilitated by one of our partners, and begin with Q&A on the company’s results in the prior month. The bulk of each meeting is then focused on two current challenges your executive team is facing. The Mentor Team asks clarifying questions to ensure the issues are what you think they are. Then, rather than give advice, they share personal experiences with those issues to stimulate your thinking with how your challenge can be addressed. After the meeting, a recording and transcript are provided to your leadership team.
