Compassion + Service (Session 8 of 12 in the EIL Program)

PREREQUISITES: Sessions 1 – 7

Only after you make progress with yourself can you begin making progress with other people. Just like self-awareness is the foundation of self-mastery, social awareness is the foundation of building healthier relationships as a leader and human, and represents the third level of emotionally intelligent leadership.

In this session, you’ll learn the remaining two building blocks of social awareness. First, you’ll gain an appreciation of how to better navigate relationships and lead people with “data” you compile through your attention and observation. Second, you’ll learn how to use this data to serve the best interests of the people to whom you’re responsible: direct reports, managers, customers, and other key business relationships.
